Teenager indicted on assault charges

A Toledo teen accused of shooting into a house and slashing a police officer with a knife was indicted Monday by a Lucas County grand jury on multiple charges.

Deleno Stine, 18, of 1645 Western Ave. was indicted on two counts of felonious assault — one with a firearms specification — and one count each of assault and improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation with a firearms specification.

Toledo police said Mr. Stine shot into a home in the 800 block of Geneva Avenue on May 3, wounding Sonya Quintanilla, 36, in the arm. The next night, Mr. Stine allegedly cut the face of off-duty Toledo Police Detective Deb Hahn with a knife as she was assisting a woman who told her she had been assaulted.
