Press Club to focus on gun control, shootings

The Press Club of Toledo will host a panel presentation about gun control and mass shootings for members of the media from 8:30 to 10 a.m. June 28 in the Huntington Room of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 325 Michigan St.

The panel presentation, as part of “Pressing Issues,” a regular program of the Press Club, will feature weapons expert Jim Barnes, store manager of Gander Mountain in Holland; Mark Abramson, an attorney with Robison, Curphey & O'Connell; Romules Durant, Toledo Public Schools soon-to-be interim superintendent, who will talk about safe schools; Toledo Police Sgt. Joe Heffernan, and news director C.J. Hoyt of WTOL-TV, Channel 11.

The session is open to the public, and admission is $10 for Press Club members and students and $20 for nonmembers.
