Port Clinton woman dies in crash
6/28/2013PORT CLINTON — A woman was killed Thursday when her minivan hit a tree, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.
Stacey E. Kleinhans, 55, of Port Clinton was westbound on Second Street about 2:10 p.m. when she drove off the right side of the street, then returned to the roadway as the minivan accelerated through the Fulton Street intersection, troopers said. The vehicle drove off the right side of the street again, striking two traffic signs, two small trees, a trash bin and, finally, a large tree.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her pet dog also was killed in the crash.
Troopers believe a medical condition was a factor in the crash, but are continuing to investigate.
