Dundee welcome center exhibits mark 35 years

PETERSBURG, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Transportation is celebrating 35 years of service at its Dundee Welcome Center on northbound U.S. 23 with special exhibits this week.

The Welcome Center, north of the U.S. 223 interchange, opened in 1978 and is one of the Top 5 most-visited centers in Michigan, with an average daily count of 1,500 people. Exhibits will include photographs from the center’s grand opening featuring Gov. William Milliken and former State Transportation Director James DeSana.
