Red, White, KABOOM set for 6 p.m. Thursday

The Red, White, KABOOM Fourth of July celebration will start on Thursday at 6 p.m. Both sides of the Toledo riverfront, including Promenade Park and International Park, will feature music, food and beverages during the event, which is sponsored by The Blade.

Local country band Brynn & Emma & Friends will play at 7 p.m., followed by a Motown-style cover band, Bruce Sims and The Jamm, from 8:30-10 p.m.

Pyrotecnico, a fireworks company, is organizing a show around dusk for the Mud Hens game and the KABOOM show at 10 p.m. The latter show will be synchronized to music on WXKR 94.5.

The event is also sponsored by Taylor Automotive Group and Humana Inc. Admission is free.

Road closures will be in effect downtown until after the show. Monroe Street, between Summit Street and Huron Street, will be closed to vehicles and pedestrian traffic from 9 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. St. Clair Street, between Monroe and Washington Street, will be closed from 3 p.m. until 10:30 p.m
