Tickets are on sale for Celebrating a Legacy, a Maumee 175th Anniversary reception that is a highlight of the community's weeklong festivities.

The party, set for Aug. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Maumee Indoor Theater, will air a 30-minute documentary film that captures Maumee’s history from 1838 to the present. The event also will feature hors d’oeuvres from several Maumee restaurants, including Degage, Dale’s Bar and Grill, The Village Idiot, Premier Catering, and Frosted Fantasies.

The $25, reserved-seating tickets may be purchased at the Maumee Indoor Theater or the Maumee Chamber of Commerce, or by phone with cash, major credit cards, or checks made payable to the Maumee Valley Historical Society. Four hundred tickets are available. Proceeds will benefit the Maumee Valley Historical Society.

The festivities start Aug. 11 with an afternoon old-fashioned baseball game, ice-cream social, and children's games at the Wolcott House Complex on River Road.
