YMCA and JCC will operate child center at Owens

7/18/2013

The YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo have partnered with Owens Community College to open a child development center on the college's campus.

The center at 30355 Oregon Rd. will be managed by the YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo and will offer program services to infants through 12 years of age, starting Aug. 12.

The partnership will allow the YMCA to lease the facility that formerly housed the Owens Community College child care center, which closed June 30 because of financial issues, Owens officials said in a statement.

The child development center will offer before-and-after school care, as well as transportation to the center for students enrolled in the Lake Local and Rossford school districts.

The center will be managed by Pam Sattler, a 2005 graduate of Owens Community College. She has been working as a director of another YMCA child development center since 2003.
