Summit Street from Cherry Street to Adams Street closed until 6 p.m. Sunday

Summit Street from Cherry Street to Adams Street will be closed from 6 p.m. today, until 6 p.m. on Sunday while crews work on a mechanical upgrade to the Fifth Third building downtown, according to the division of transportation at the Department of Public Service.

Two detour routes have been established: drivers are encouraged to take Adams Street to Superior Street to Cherry Street, or Cherry Street to Superior Street to Adams Street, to avoid the closure.
