Hayes mural possibly first of turnpike series
A barn painting depicting President Rutherford B. Hayes was formally dedicated Tuesday as the first of what a statewide historical agency envisions as a series of rural murals promoting Ohio’s history. The concept for the Ohio History Barns was inspired in part by the popularity of the Ohio Bicentennial Barns commissioned early last decade by the state’s bicentennial committee, according to an Ohio Turnpike spokesman, and the President Hayes barn in Sandusky County was painted by the same painter.
