Elmore American Legion Community Post 279 will hold a ceremony Saturday to dedicate a bronze plaque commemorating the Combat Veterans' Moving Wall visit to Elmore a year ago.

The dedication will be at 4 p.m. at the Elmore Historical Society, 353 Ottawa St. More than 6,000 visitors saw the moving wall last year honoring veterans of the Vietnam War.

The dedication will be preceded by a motorcycle poker run starting at the legion hall on Veterans Avenue. Doughnuts and coffee will be served at 9:30 a.m., with the first motorcycles leaving an hour later. The donation is $15 per motorcycle and $10 per rider. Cash prizes will be awarded to the riders who finish in the first three places. Proceeds will go to Honor Flight Northwest Ohio.

Following the dedication, the rock band Old School will play oldies from 5 to 8 p.m. at the historical society. Hot dogs, french fries, onion rings, desserts, and beverages will be served.
