Drain work closes Cedar Point Road

Part of Cedar Point Road in Oregon will be closed for about 2½ months, starting today for construction of a drainage canal and water-line work.

Cedar Point will close just west of Wynn Road at 7 a.m. so Miller Brothers Construction, Inc., can start lowering a trunk water main that will pass beneath the canal.

Traffic will be detoured at Lallendorf and Wynn roads and directed to Corduroy Road until the work’s completion, estimated for Oct. 25.

The construction is part of the city's $5.5 million Flood Relieft and Erosion Control Project, under which runoff that now flows through three ditches will be combined to one to pass by the BP-Husky Refinery and flow into Lake Erie.
