Several downtown Toledo streets will be closed today during the Color Run, and the Birmingham Festival in East Toledo also will close streets, the city transportation division announced.
Starting at 7:30 a.m., Summit Street will close between Jackson Street and Jefferson Avenue; southbound Huron, Superior, and St. Clair streets will close at Jackson, and eastbound Monroe, Adams, and Jackson streets, and Jefferson and Madison avenues will be closed at Erie Street.
Motorists will find brief delays on other streets on the south side of downtown during the event, for which the first wave of runners is set to leave Promenade Park at 8 a.m.
In East Toledo, Consaul Street will be closed at 7 a.m. today through 10 p.m. Sunday between Front and Woodford streets for the event. Some nearby streets will close, and on-street parking is barred during the event. Streets include all or parts of Bakewell, Bogar, Burr, Esther, Magyar, Burger, Caledonia, and Genesee streets and Milford Avenue.
