Several ramps will be closed at night Thursday through Saturday at the Airport Highway interchange on I-475/U.S. 23, as will be a ramp at the I-280/I-75 junction in North Toledo on Saturday night, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.

During the closings, crews will cut grooves into the ramps' pavement to improve drainage and vehicles' traction during rainfall.

Starting at 9 p.m. Thursday, the southbound I-475 exit to westbound Airport (State Rt. 2) will be closed. Once its grooves are cut, work will shift to the southbound exit to eastbound Airport. All work is scheduled for completion by 6 a.m. Friday.

During the same hours Friday night into Saturday, the southbound exit to eastbound Airport will again be closed.

Traffic will be detoured south to the Salisbury/Dussel interchange, then back north to Airport, on both nights.

From 9 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday, the ramp from northbound I-280 to southbound I-75 will be closed, with traffic detoured north on I-75 to the Alexis Road interchange.

Similar work is planned at other interchanges during the next three months, ODOT said.
