Toledo will offer its last free bulk-waste disposal of the year Saturday at Hoffman Road Landfill to city residents.
Acceptable bulk-waste items include excess trash, furniture, carpeting, mattresses, wood waste, and scrap metal.
There will be no free commercial dumping, and numerous items will not be accepted, including appliances that contain freon; hazardous, chemical, toxic, poisonous, flammable, or industrial waste; tires, batteries, paint, or oil. A complete list of prohibited items is available at the Solid Waste page on the city Web site, toledo.oh.gov.
The landfill will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, and valid photo identification and a current utility bill — as proof of residence — will be required.
