Area United Way to launch campaign
9/5/2013United Way of Greater Toledo will kick off its 95th fund-raising campaign today beginning with a breakfast event in Maumee.
The 7:30 a.m. gathering at Parkway Place will feature best-selling author, former Louisiana Teacher of the Year, humorist, and university professor Debbie Silver, who will speak to the crowd on “The Art and Heart of Education.”
At the event, United Way leaders are expected to announce ways that donations will be matched during the course of the campaign.
Today, Friday, and Saturday, volunteers will work on projects in the community as part of the kickoff.
