Fallen electrical lines block State Rt. 2 traffic

BLADE STAFF

PORT CLINTON — Electrical lines fell across State Rt. 2, east of Camp Perry, on Sunday, blocking all lanes of the highway to traffic, authorities said.

A car struck a utility pole about 6 p.m., sending live power lines across the road, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office said. No one was believed to have been hurt in the accident.

The Ohio Department of Transportation said the road is expected to be closed until 4 a.m. Monday. A detour has been established on State Rt. 163 and State Route 358.

It was not known if electric service in the area was affected.
