Annual party to mark ‘Pit Bull’ Awareness Day

BLADE STAFF

The Lucas County Pit Crew, an advocacy group for “pit bulls,” will mark National “Pit Bull” Awareness Day from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at its annual party at Wildwood Metropark, 5100 W. Central Ave., at shelter house No. 1.

A costume contest will begin at 1:30 p.m.

The event will include food, a family photo booth, a costume parade, and a short memorial to honor dogs that were killed because of what the group deems breed discrimination. All dogs are welcome. Information is available at 419-290-6365.
