The River Raisin National Battlefield Park is open again after the partial federal shutdown and has new winter hours, Superintendent Scott Bentley said.

The Visitor Center will be open from noon to 5 p.m. daily, with the grounds open from dawn to dusk.

Children’s Craft Day will be noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 9. Advance registrations are needed; call 734-243-7136.

Children will learn how to make crafts as Frenchtown settlers and Native Americans did more than 200 years ago.
