Bedford Athletic Director Mark German said students at Whitmer, St. Francis de Sales, Toledo Central Catholic, Perrysburg, Clay, Whiteford, Saint Mary Catholic Central, Monroe, Ann Arbor Huron, Saline, Lake, Dundee, Walled Lake, Blissfield, and Ida high schools will memorialize the dead 17-year-old who played defensive back for the Kicking Mules by wearing red at their respective games.

The Durbin youth died Thursday in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, a day after the car he drove hit the rear of a garbage truck on Samaria Road east of Secor Road.

Mr. German said he expected the list of schools to grow.
