An inmate who was assaulted inside the Lucas County jail was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Thursday on multiple charges.

Austin Johnson, 21, of 2423 S. Holland-Sylvania Rd., Maumee was indicted for robbery, escape, and carrying a concealed weapon, while co-defendant Dynasty Crawford, 19, of 5916 Walnut Circle was indicted for robbery, carrying a concealed weapon, and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

The charges stem from an Oct. 12 holdup at the Tim Hortons restaurant in Holland. After the robbery, a Lucas County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a car driven by Ms. Crawford matching the description of one used in the robbery. Mr. Johnson ran from authorities before being arrested, police said.

Shortly after he was booked at the jail, Mr. Johnson was attacked by an other inmate. Archie Fobbs, 24, of 30 W. Weber St. was indicted for felonious assault in connection with that incident.
