Sylvania Ave. projects delayed by rainfall

Recent rainfall has delayed completion of two construction projects on Sylvania Avenue that require detours, the Lucas County Engineer's Office said Thursday.

Roundabout construction that has closed Sylvania’s Mitchaw Road intersection since Sept. 26 is expected to end Wednesday instead of Saturday, while widening between U.S. 23 and Lancelot Road that began last week and was scheduled to end today has been extended through Monday. Both projects are in Sylvania Township.

Sylvania traffic remains detoured to avoid the widening projects.
