The new ProMedica Parkway bridge over I-475 in West Toledo will open following a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday morning, the Ohio Department of Transportation has announced.

The bridge is part of a new I-475 interchange to replace four scattered ramps serving West Toledo neighborhoods near Toledo Hospital, which in turn was part of widening I-475 between I-75 and Rushland Avenue. The $67 million project is nearing substantial completion, although several ramps and lanes are closed for completion of noise walls, sign installation, and other finishing touches.

Ramps at ProMedica Parkway, the extension of the former Oatis Avenue between Central and Upton avenues, have been open since last year, but until the bridge opens, access is limited, with westbound I-475 connected only to Upton and eastbound I-475 connected only to Central.
