BOWLING GREEN -- Two buildings evacuated earlier today because of a gas leak on the Bowling Green State University campus have been declared safe to reenter as of about 2:20 p.m.

A university spokesman said construction crews apparently accidentally struck a gas line near Park and Leroy avenues at about 12:30 p.m. The university cleared its College of Technology, Architecture, and Applied Engineering building, and College Park Office building as a precaution.

The office building houses, among other things, the BGSU police department. The department temporarily located its dispatch center to its Huntington Building.

The university spokesman said construction crews were working on a planned Bureau of Criminal Investigation building when they struck the gas line. There were no reports of injuries.
