Flood watch issued across most of Ohio

With heavy rain and above-freezing temperatures in the forecast, the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Saturday and Sunday across most of Ohio.

The exact track of the heaviest rain isn’t yet known, forecasters said, but the storm system could bring 1 to 3 inches of rainfall. That rain combined with melting snow could lead to flooding of rivers, streams, creeks, and low-lying areas.

The flood watch will be in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday for Lucas, Ottawa, Wood, Erie, Hancock, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wyandot counties. The flood watch will be in effect from 1 p.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Sunday for such counties as Allen, Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, and Williams.
