Pedestrian dies of blunt-force injuries
12/22/2013An 84-year-old pedestrian struck by a vehicle Monday morning in Northwood died of multiple blunt-force injuries, Lucas County Coroner Dr. James Patrick said.
Rosella J. Wells, a Northwood resident, was walking in the center left-turn lane of Woodville Road near Ritter Avenue about 8:30 a.m. when a vehicle struck her, Dr. Patrick said. She died at 12:44 p.m. Tuesday in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.
Northwood police said Nancy L. Lewis, 79, of Keen Street in Toledo, was eastbound on Woodville Road.
When she moved into the road’s left-turn lane to enter a driveway at 3011 Woodville, her car struck the pedestrian, who was apparently walking west in the turn lane, police said.
