Jay tabbed to lead development panel

The Regional Growth Partnership has hired Mike Jay for the newly created position of director of strategic networks, effective March 1.

Mr. Jay is director of economic development for the city of Fremont, where he has worked since 1992. Before that, he managed the Small Business Innovation Research program at Terra Community College in Fremont.

“Mike has a unique set of skills where he can assist our team in virtually any area, such as project management, site consultant visits, marketing, and business development,” said Dean Monske, president and CEO of the RGP.

The RGP said Mr. Jay will meet regularly with county commissioners, mayors, and other elected officials to communicate the positive developments and success of the RGP and JobsOhio. He will also meet regularly with economic development officials throughout the region to discuss RGP/ JobsOhio programs and initiatives.

The RGP is a private, nonprofit economic development group focused on fostering business investment regionally.

JobsOhio is a private group created by Gov. John Kasich that is in charge of the state’s economic development functions.
