A Maryland man who led police on a high-speed chase was placed on community control for three years Wednesday and ordered to spend six months at the Correctional Treatment Facility in Toledo.

William Cook, 36, of Baltimore pleaded no contest Jan. 13 to one count of attempted failure to comply with the order or a signal of police. Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook ordered that after his release, he is to spend three months in the Lucas County work release program. The judge also suspended his driver’s license for three years.

Cook was arrested Oct. 10 after Toledo and Oregon police tried to stop his pickup for a traffic offense.
