A fourth suspect charged with the death of a carryout owner who was shot and killed in his home last year was arrested Wednesday in North Toledo.

Charged with murder is Phillip Allen, Jr., 22, who was previously indicted by a Lucas County grand jury for aggravated murder, aggravated burglary, and aggravated robbery.

He's implicated in the death of James Safadi, 34, who was killed May 18 at his South River Road home in Waterville Township.

A U.S. Marshals’ task force and Toledo police arrested Mr. Allen after a one-month search. Based on a tip last week, law-enforcement officials watched a home in the 2900 block of Ontario street, and a search there early Wednesday produced Mr. Allen hiding in an attic, officials said.

A second man, Joel Brown, was arrested for obstruction of justice and weapons under disability and is to be arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court. Authorities said they found a loaded .380-caliber handgun inside the residence.
