A lane and ramp on southbound I-75 near downtown Toledo will remain closed through the weekend after an attempt Thursday to patch a large pothole with concrete failed because of cold weather, an Ohio Department of Transportation spokesman said Friday.

Spokesman Theresa Pollick said quick-setting concrete poured into the hole on a bridge over Segur Avenue did not set properly and had to be jack-hammered out again Friday.

Repair crews will try another repair today, when warmer weather is forecast, “if they can keep it dry,” Ms. Pollick said.

The pothole closed the southbound right lane and the Erie Street entrance Wednesday afternoon. The closest alternative ramps are the entrances at Michigan Street/Anthony Wayne Trail or South Avenue.
