Otsego will implement full-day kindergarten

Otsego Local Schools will implement full-day, everyday kindergarten starting next school year.

Currently, the district offers full-day kindergarten every other day and on alternating Mondays; limited space is available on other days, but for a fee. District officials said the decision to offer everyday kindergarten came after a series of community and parent surveys and forums.

Kindergarten registration for next school year will be between Feb. 24 and March 7. Parents can register their children between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.; evening registration will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

Children who turn 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 can enroll.

Registration forms are available at otsegoknights.org. When registering, parents must bring a certified birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization records, records from a recent physical, proof of residency, and custody papers if applicable. For more information, call 419-823-4381, and select option 4.
