Judges, journalists, and lawyers will hash out their differences today at a free conference open to the public.

The event, “Presiding Over, Litigating, and Covering High-Profile Cases: Rules, Approaches, and Problems,” is from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. in the Main Library’s McMaster Center Auditorium, 325 Michigan St., downtown. Lawyers will be charged $50 if seeking CLE credit. They are asked to register via the Toledo Bar Association.

The keynote speaker is Jamie Sultan, a Boston attorney defending former NFL player Aaron Hernandez, who has been charged with murder.

The conference is sponsored by a group called the Alliance of Judges, Lawyers, and Journalists. The event, which is the first of what will be a series of conferences like it, is supported by The Blade and the bar association.
