Seneca Co. fire officials investigate explosion

BETTSVILLE, Ohio — Authorities are investigating an explosion and ensuing fire Thursday that destroyed a vacant house in Bettsville in Seneca County, authorities said.

There were no injuries, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

The explosion occurred about 8:20 a.m. at a house near Monroe and Union streets, causing a fire, a sheriff’s dispatcher said. As of midafternoon, fire crews had brought the fire under control, the dispatcher said.

The damage estimate was unavailable Thursday.
