The Lucas County Canine Care & Control will host its third annual Puppy Love adoption event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Canine Care Center, 410 S. Erie St.

The event includes adoption activities, doggie speed dating, spay/neuter information, a puppy kissing booth, and a craft table for children to make valentines for the shelter's dogs.

Fourteen dogs in the “Lonely Hearts Club” will have their adoption fees reduced to just $14. All other dogs will be available for the regular $100 fee. Every dog adopted must also get a $25 Lucas County dog license.

Anyone adopting a dog today will receive a free Valentine’s goodie bag with dog supplies, toys, and treats. All attendees can enter to win one of several door prizes, like grooming gift certificates, Petco gift cards, and dog toys.

Donations of items like towels, blankets, toys, and treats will also be accepted during the event. All pet food donations will benefit Humane Ohio.
