Archbold retirement home celebrates 50 years
2/24/2014The Fairlawn Retirement Community in Archbold will celebrate its 50th anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday. The public is invited to attend the event along with Fairlawn staff and volunteers.
Fairlawn is operated by local Mennonite churches, and the event will recognize those Mennonite churches that worked to form Fairlawn Haven, the original retirement home in 1964.
It began with 52 residents and has expanded over the years and is now home to 400 residents on a 52-acre campus.
