Sewer collapse closes part of Sylvania Avenue
3/1/2014Additional street collapses at the location of a collapsing sewer closed part of Sylvania Avenue to all traffic Friday.
Sylvania had been closed to westbound vehicles between Vermaas and Burnham avenues since late last week, when heavy rain combined with the sewer failure caused two sinkholes in the street. But further collapses closed the eastbound lanes as well Friday.
Traffic on Sylvania is detoured via Seiss and Phillips avenues.
