FINDLAY — Partial bridge demolition will close U.S. 224 at I-75 this weekend and traffic will be restricted to one lane each way using the U.S. 224 interchange ramps, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced.

From 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. March 10, U.S. 224 access to and from I-75 in Findlay will be blocked while the south half of that route’s bridge over the freeway is demolished as part of a replacement project. U.S. 224 traffic will be detoured via State Rts. 12 and 235.

Preparations will restrict U.S. 224 to one lane each way. There will be no left-turn lanes for the I-75 entrances, so traffic is likely to be congested in the area.

Nighttime and morning lane closings are planned on I-75 this week for placement of temporary barrier wall and lane stripes.

The demolition was originally scheduled for this past weekend and could be delayed again if weather is unsuitable, ODOT said.
