Some preliminary numbers are starting to be issued, and now Toledo area residents might decide it is time to stock up on bread and milk.

The National Weather Service, which has already issued a hazardous weather outlook for later in the week for northwest Ohio, is now predicting a chance of 4 to 9 inches of snowfall in the region by Wednesday evening.

Estimates will change, however, as the exact track of the system becomes more certain.

According to the weather service, wintry weather is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday when a low pressure system is expected to track across the lower Ohio Valley.

Precipitation could begin as rain or a rain and snow mix Tuesday night, turning to all snow Wednesday.

Chin up, though. Next week, spring officially arrives.
