Boil alert issued along Holland-Sylvania Road

Water users along a one-block stretch of Holland-Sylvania Road from Central Avenue to Goodhue Drive are under a boil advisory through Monday, according to the Lucas County sanitary engineer’s office.

An emergency water-main repair prompted the advisory and caused traffic to reroute on northbound Holland-Sylvania, Sanitary Engineer Jim Shaw said in a statement.

Mr. Shaw said water customers should boil water intended for consumption for at least one minute. He added the advisory was issued as a precaution only.
