After three days of summerlike conditions, local weather will become more springlike for the next few days — as in, early spring.

The mercury at Toledo Express Airport climbed to 87 Tuesday afternoon, 2 degrees shy of the record for the day, before the arrival of a strong thunderstorm between 3 and 4 p.m. caused the temperature at Toledo’s official reporting station to plummet 19 degrees in just an hour.

Local temperatures today will struggle to get out of the low 60s, forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Cleveland said. Sixty-degree highs are normal for mid-April in Toledo, while low 70s are the average high for mid-May.

It’s also expected to remain cloudy and wet, with thunderstorms possible today and showers persisting into the first half of the weekend.
