A nine-day East Toledo crime enforcement blitz yielded 156 arrests, police said.
Toledo police saturated part of the east side – bounded by Front Street, East Broadway, Navarre Avenue, and Oak Street – from May 9 through May 17 because of “the higher than average number [of] crimes that have been occurring there” compared to the rest of the city, police said. During the round-the-clock blitz, in the targeted area, police received only three burglary reports, police said.
Other city departments were involved in identifying quality-of-life issues.
