MONROE — The Monroe County Intermediate School District Board of Education will undertake a search for a replacement for longtime board member Earl Cousino, who died Tuesday.

Mr. Cousino, 70, of Erie served 39 years on the board, with his term to expire in June, 2015. The board will appoint a replacement to serve until then, at which time that person will have an option to apply for the seat for a full six-year term, board officials said in a release.

Applicants must be a resident of one of the board’s nine local school districts and be a registered voter.

Applications must be submitted along with a resume and three letters of reference by 4 p.m. June 13 to andrea.murphy@monroeisd.us, or interested applicants can call Andrea Murphy at 734-242-5799.
