About 150 nonunion Lucas County employees, including all administrators, received a 3 percent raise, according to a new contract approved Monday by the county’s board of commissioners.

The one-year contract is retroactive to Jan. 1 and did not include any other contract changes or additions, said county administrator Laura Lloyd-Jenkins. With the 3 percent increase, Ms. Lloyd-Jenkins, the county’s top administrator, will get an annual salary of $105,996.

The county now has negotiated new contracts with all employee union groups except for Emergency Medical Services, Ms. Lloyd-Jenkins said. That negotiation is expected to take longer because they usually prefer a longer-term contract.

“Overall, negotiations went very well,” Ms. Lloyd-Jenkins said. “I know employees are happy that after six years with no raises we were in a position this year to provide raises, and we are optimistic about the future.”

There are several county departments whose nonunion employees don’t participate in the bargaining process. The auditor’s office, board of elections, and courts approve their own employee pay raises, she said.
