Police accuse man of making a false report

A Toledo man allegedly called 911 on Sunday and told police that his friend shot himself and then fell to his death from the Martin Luther King, Jr., Bridge.

Police said no such suicide happened there, and they charged Thomas Jeffers, 24, of 3160 Brigham St. with making a false report, false information to a police officer, and obstructing official business. Mr. Jeffers is to be arraigned today at 1 p.m. in Toledo Municipal Court.
