City pools set to open for the season today
6/21/2014Toledo city pools will open at noon today after a budget crunch earlier this year threatened to keep them closed.
Willys Pool, 1375 Hillcrest Ave.; Roosevelt Pool, 910 Dorr St.; Wilson Pool, 3253 Otto St.; Navarre Pool, 1001 White St., and Pickford Pool, 3000 Medford Drive, along with the Savage Splash Pad at 645 Vance St. are funded this summer. The Collins administration said two of the pools — Roosevelt and Wilson — are “experiencing slight issues” that could delay opening today, so they are listed as tentative.
Regular hours and admission for the 2014 pool season is on the city of Toledo Web site, toledo.oh.gov.
Willys and Roosevelt will be open Tuesday through Sunday and the other facilities will be open Monday through Saturday.
