Initial concrete pour for bridge overhaul

Tony Ortiz, Matt O’Neil, Jeff Mansfield, and Jeff Winters, from left, work with the concrete that will be the driving surface of the Anthony Wayne Bridge.

An 80-foot section of the west side main-span deck was poured Thursday, one of about 10 to be done as part of a $28.7 mil-lion overhaul of the bridge over the Maumee River.

The bridge is closed to traffic until September, 2015.
