Woman, 79, is killed near Lyons

LYONS,Ohio — A two-vehicle crash that killed an Ann Arbor woman at State Rt. 109 and U.S. 20 in Fulton County’‍s Royalton Township remained under investigation Wednesday, authorities said.

Edith Detweiler, 79, of Ann Arbor, who was driving a car, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Tuesday evening, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

The car was northbound on Route 109 about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday when for unknown reasons it failed to stop at the intersection with U.S. 20 and struck a large commercial truck operated by Michael Viscuso, Jr., 38, of Lomira, Wis., according to the patrol.

U.S. 20 was closed for about three hours in Royalton Township, which is about 20 miles west of Toledo.

Mr. Viscuso was not injured, the patrol said. Both drivers used seat belts.
