NORTH BALTIMORE, Ohio — A truck driver was injured Wednesday morning when his tractor-trailer went off State Rt. 18 and crashed into a gas pump at a filling station near I-75.

The driver, whose name was not available, was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries, North Baltimore police said.

The truck, registered to a Canadian company, went down a short embankment before crashing into a gas pump at the Petro Stopping Center’‍s BP station in the 12900 block of Deshler Road, just east of the I-75 interchange with Route 18. There was no fire and no other vehicles were involved.

The wrecked truck remained at the scene for several hours before it was removed by a heavy-tow truck, and the filling station was closed to other customers. The crash remained under investigation later Wednesday by the Wood County Sheriff’‍s Office, which released no additional details.
