A man accused of shooting two people at a central Toledo carryout July 2 was arrested and arraigned Thursday.

Dominique Ezell, 23, of 909 Wall St. is charged with two counts of felonious assault. During his arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court his bond was set at $100,000. He remained in the Lucas County jail on Thursday. Police allege that he shot Tild Reed II, 23, and Aaron Gaines, 53, at Detroit Stop, 2516 Detroit Ave.

Police said Mr. Reed was shot in a thigh while standing in the doorway of the carryout about 12:30 p.m. Mr. Gaines was struck in an ankle by a bullet ricochet. Neither injury was considered life threatening.

Police did not provide a motive for the shooting, but Mr. Reed and Mr. Ezell appear to have a history that in at least one other instance played out at the Detroit Stop. Police allege that Mr. Reed shot at Mr. Ezell at the carryout in 2011. No injuries were reported, and Mr. Reed was charged with felonious assault, but the charge was dismissed in Toledo Municipal Court after Mr. Ezell failed to show up twice, according to court records.
