About 1,600 residents in the Village of McComb, in Hancock County, are under a boil advisory today that will last until Tuesday and possibly longer, said village administrator Kevin Siferd.

Mr. Siferd said a water main break at the intersection of State Route 186 and Bond-Preble St. flooded the area about 2:30 a.m. today and initially the village had a limited water supply because the break drained the entire water tower.

The water has been restored to tower but the boil advisory will remain in place until test results show the water is safe, he said.

Mr. Siferd said water samples will be sent to the Findlay water department on Monday for testing and it will take a least 24 hours before the results are known.

McComb is located about 10 miles northwest of Findlay.
