McCOMB, Ohio — About 1,600 residents in the village of McComb in Hancock County are under a boil advisory until Tuesday and possibly longer, said village administrator Kevin Siferd.

Mr. Siferd said a water main break at State Rt. 186 and Bond-Preble Street flooded the area about 2:30 a.m. Sunday and initially the village had a limited water supply because the break drained the water tower.

The water was restored to the tower but the boil advisory will remain in place until test results show the water is safe, he said.

Mr. Siferd said water samples will be sent to the Findlay water department today for testing and it will take a least 24 hours before the results are known.

McComb is located about 10 miles northwest of Findlay.
